Why manifesting isn’t working for you (yet)

Hey there, conscious creator,

Months ago, I was sitting in a quiet café — laptop open, cursor blinking, trying to find the right words to begin my new course on identity shifting.

I had no idea where to start.

I kept asking myself:

  • How do I explain identity shifting in a way that actually lands?
  • Do people even know what that means?
  • Will it sound too out there?

That’s when he walked in.

Black coffee. Corn muffin. Newspaper under his arm. He moved like someone who wasn’t performing for the world—just being in it. You could feel it: a quiet kind of freedom.

He took the table next to mine — joking with the server, asking about her day, totally at ease with himself and his surroundings.

I thought to myself:

If this man asked me what I was working on, how would I explain identity shifting to him?

No jargon. No fancy frameworks. Just real talk.

And that’s when it clicked.

Identity shifting isn’t some mystical idea or New Age trend. It’s the key to consciously creating lasting, meaningful change in your life.

Because the truth is, you can visualize success all day, hustle your way to the top, and keep “trusting the universe”... but if your nervous system still sees you as your past self, or if your energy is still wired to the patterns of who you’ve been — you’ll keep creating more of the same.

Because your current self is programmed for your current results.

That’s the root of why so many people feel like manifestation isn’t working for them even when they’re doing “everything right.” (See article below for more on this.)

And here’s how that disconnect tends to show up:

  • We affirm abundance while still embodying lack.
  • We visualize love while still believing we’re unworthy.
  • We wait for signs while ignoring the part of us that already knows.
  • We consume wisdom without a daily practice that integrates it into the body.

And all of this points to one subtle but often forgotten truth:

We don’t manifest from desire.
We manifest from familiarity.

From what feels safe to our nervous system, and from what aligns with who we believe ourselves to be.

And that’s the heart of identity shifting.

It’s not about fixing yourself.
It’s not about pretending.
It’s not about forcing.

It’s about clearing the false layers and embodying the truth of who you already are underneath it all.

The version of you who doesn’t just want a different life.

But is willing to live it.

To meet the unfamiliar. To walk the path of authenticity you’ve always known was yours—the very path I aim to guide you through in the Identity Shifting Morning Practice, one grounded, intentional step at a time.

And that’s when I looked back at the man beside me in the café—still sipping his coffee, fully himself—and realized:

That’s how I’d explain identity shifting to him.

Because maybe… that’s the voice we all need to hear.

You Packed Your Bags But Forgot Your Soul

When you’re not rooted in your identity, presence evaporates. You arrive at the moment, but your soul doesn’t. Before you can chase what’s next, take a breath. Align with the self who’s actually meant to arrive there.

You crossed oceans of time to arrive at this hour.
But when the moment opened its arms —
you were elsewhere.
In the future.
In your head.
In the noise.
So the kiss was soft, but you missed it.
The mountain sang, but you were scrolling.
The child reached out, but your heart was closed.
Why?
Because you packed your bags,
but not your soul.
You chose the destination,
but not the way of being.

7 Reasons Why Manifestation Isn’t Working For You (Yet)

In planning my Identity Shifting Morning Practice course, I didn’t just sit in cafés having imaginary conversations with random strangers (though that helped). I also spoke with many of you—fellow conscious creators on the path—who generously shared your challenges around manifestation.

Here’s what I discovered:

Most people aren’t struggling because they’re doing it wrong. They’re struggling because they’ve only been taught half the equation.

So if it feels like manifestation isn’t working for you… don’t give up.

It’s not a sign that you’re blocked.
It’s a sign that something deeper is ready to shift.

Here are the 7 most common reasons it could feel like manifestation isn’t working for you yet

  1. You’re focused on outcomes instead of identity.
  2. Your subconscious still sees you as your past self.
  3. Your nervous system doesn’t feel safe having what you want.
  4. You don’t feel worthy of what you want.
  5. You’re stuck in passive mode—waiting instead of becoming.
  6. You don’t have a daily embodiment practice that anchors the change.
  7. You keep coming back to square one.

Entering A State Of Zero: A Spiritual Practice For Freedom And Authenticity

“And now it’s time to become no body, no one, no thing, no where, in no time… to become pure consciousness… to become an awareness in the infinite field of potentials. And to invest your energy into the unknown. And the longer you linger in the unknown, the more you draw a new life to you. Simply become a thought in the blackness of infinity…”

— Dr. Joe Dispenza, various guided meditations

Before you shift into your future self, we must shed who you think you need to be. Because what if the pressure to become someone is the very thing blocking who you already are?

That’s the power of entering what’s called a state of Zero—a meditative space where all the roles, labels, and identities dissolve. No striving. No fixing. No self-improvement. Just stillness. And from that stillness, something deeper can finally come through.

When you return to Zero, you don’t lose yourself.
You find the part that was never lost.

I created a short guided practice to help you experience this state for yourself—along with a deeper reflection on how Zero can liberate you from identity and reconnect you with what’s essential.

// Parting Words

Life isn’t short. It’s just unlived.

We’ve all heard it — or said it ourselves: “Life is short.”

But is it?

We don’t say those words because life is actually short. We say them when we feel like we’ve missed out, when it feels too late, and when we’ve rushed through our days, months, and years distracted, irritated, chasing things that never really mattered.

And only then do we look back and realize how many moments slipped through our fingers.

But in fact, life is long.

A long, wondrous, winding journey.

Because the real issue is never time.

It’s consciousness.

Life only feels short when you’re not really in it. When you’re living on autopilot. When your energy is wasted on nonsense. When your attention is hijacked, and your moments are lived without fully being in them.

Before I can tell my life what I want to do with it, I must listen to my life telling me who I am. Before I can tell my life what truths and values I have decided to live up to, I must let my life tell me what truths I embody, what values I represent. — Parker J. Sat Nam (Sanskrit, noun): Truth is my identity. For the past few months, I’ve been drowning. Buried under a demanding client project that’s taken up nearly every ounce of my time and energy. It left me with barely a breath to spare—no space to write, no space to create, no space to complete the identity shifting program I’ve been building for what seems like forever. And if I’m honest... I started to feel resentful that it was dominating my life. Burnt out. Like I’d taken on more than I could...

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue.
